What Our Underwriting Team Actually Looks At

Diesel Funding provides merchant cash advances — purchases of a portion of your future receivables, not loans. Because we're buying a share of what your business will earn, our review centers on how your business actually performs day to day, not just a credit score.

The bank statements you provide tell most of the story: consistent deposits, healthy average balances, and manageable existing obligations matter far more to us than a number from a credit bureau. That's why business owners with less-than-perfect credit can still qualify — read more on our bad credit funding page.

Every file is reviewed by a person, and every offer is structured around your revenue. There's no one-size-fits-all product: a seasonal retailer, a trucking company, and a medical practice each get terms shaped to how money moves through their business. You can see how the product works in detail on our merchant cash advance page, and what the costs look like on our Rates & Disclosures page.

    Questions About the Process

How long does the whole process take?

Most applications are reviewed the same day they come in. If your file is complete — application plus recent bank statements — you can receive a decision within hours and funding as fast as the same business day. Files that need additional documentation may take an extra day.

    Will applying affect my credit?

Submitting an application does not involve a hard credit pull. Our review is based primarily on your business's revenue and banking activity.

    What documents do I need?

A completed application and your three most recent months of business bank statements are enough to start. Depending on the offer, we may also ask for a voided check and a copy of your driver's license before funding.

    Is this a loan?

No. A merchant cash advance is a purchase of a portion of your future receivables. Remittances are tied to your revenue rather than a fixed principal-and-interest schedule. The full mechanics are explained on our Rates & Disclosures page.

What do I need to qualify?

Generally, we work with businesses that have been operating for at least one year and generate $20,000 or more in monthly revenue. Every file is reviewed individually — there is no automatic approval or denial.

    What happens after I'm funded?

Remittances begin on the schedule in your agreement, and you'll have a direct point of contact for any questions. Many of our clients return for additional funding as their business grows — renewals are often faster than the first round because we already know your business.

How much funding can my business receive?

Offers range from $5,000 up to $3,000,000. The amount is driven by your revenue: underwriting sizes each offer around what your receivables can comfortably support, so a growing business can often access more capital in later rounds than in its first.

Do you fund businesses in my state or industry?

We fund in all 50 states and across most industries — retail, restaurants, trucking and logistics, construction, medical, professional services, and more. See our state guides for Florida, New York, California, and New Jersey.

Can I get funded if I already have an advance?

Often, yes. Businesses with existing positions may qualify for additional capital or a restructure depending on how the file looks. Each situation is underwritten individually, so the fastest way to find out is to apply or call us to talk it through.
